JC: Yes, it’s been three years since we rolled out this blog. Since April 28, 2008 we’ve reviewed some 450 books, interviewed dozens of authors, and had more than 60 authors contribute to our When We Fell In Love series. We’ve also welcomed JE as the fourth guy and Morgan, Jennifer, Tory and Chris on board as regular contributors. If you want to relive the good old days, check out our very first post, a three part review of Mark Sarvas’s novel Harry, Revised.
If, however, you are living in the present, we’ve got an amazing giveaway to celebrate our anniversary. Ecco Books has provided 5 gorgeous prints of the cover art for The Sisters Brothers by Patrick deWitt. They are 12X18, on heavy gauge paper, and part of a limited run, signed and numbered by artist Dan Stiles.
To win one of these beauties, show us your love for cover art by listing at least one other book for which you’d like to have a jacket print. Bonus points if you can provide a link to the cover.
Here’s the Stiles cover again. Good Luck.

Emily CroweThat’s one of the most eye-catching covers I’ve seen this year–I’d love to win one of the prints!
If I could own the artwork of any book I can name, it would probably be one of the various Jim Harrison books whose covers are graced with the art of Russell Chatham. I really like Saving Daylight: http://cd.pbsstatic.com/m/76/2676/9781556592676.jpg
But I also have a small collection of art that features crows, ravens, or rooks because of my surname and I might choose this one instead: http://www.prairiefirenewspaper.com/files/returning-to-earth.jpg
Congrats on three years of great book blogging!

ShirleyThis is the age of magnificent book covers! Take, for example, Stephen King’s about to be released novel 11/22/63, the story of the JFK assassination. While the cover in and of itself is not spectacular, simply the fact that it is Stephen King’s fictionalized version of President Kennedy’s assassination, will make this cover a keepsake were it to be available as a frameable piece.
Another cover that is worthy of note is Italian Joy by Carla Coulson. This cover is unique as it is designed by the author, using her own photography, to make wrapper type of cover. See images of the wrapper as it is unfolded here and here.
In women’s fiction, Emily Sue Harvey’s book, Flavors is absolutely decadent.
In Ya fiction there is a book cover I have been raving about for some time. The magic of the cover lies in the hidden images and the hues of colour used to create an atmosphere of fantasy. This book is Quicksilver by Joy Spraycar. Quicksilver is a YA fantasy novel about a werewolf’s journey to reverse the curse that made him what he is. Romance, adventure, and creatures of the popular fantasy realm abound.
I could go on and on but this is just a biref samplling of mentionable covers.

GloriaOh – and CONGRATULATIONS ON THREE YEARS!

David AbramsFirst of all, Happy Birthday.
Second, The Sisters Brothers is one of the best cover designs of this year so far. I’ve been staring, mesmerized, at the ARC ever since I got it in the mail three months ago.
Third, there are a lot of great covers out there, but one I keep going back to time and again is THE BRIEF HISTORY OF THE DEAD by Kevin Brockmeier. Not only is it a kick-ass novel, but the designer chose a haunting, evocative photo.

Vasilly450 reviews plus over 60 interviews in 3 years is just amazing! I would love to win a print of The Sisters Brothers. Lauren Groff’s Delicate Edible Birds is a book that I bought mainly for the cover, which I think is so beautiful. I can imagine a cover print of it hanging in my home. http://www.indiebound.org/book/9781401340865

Vicky PanzichAs it happens, yesterday I finished Colum McCann’s Let the Great World Spin and am, unsuccessfully so far, casting about for something that I might love as much as I did this book. Any suggestions? Matteo Pericoli did a lovely drawing for the cover…..http://www.matteopericoli.com/news/colum/html…
You guys are a great find…here’s to three more years.

Anonymouscheers guys! i’m new here, but congratulations!
carlos ruiz zafon, i adore..and The Shadow of the Wind cover sends my imagination off wandering thru the mystery of lamp lighted streets of old barcelona… and then again, in awe, as i trip along the winding twists of stairs, pathways and bridges inside the labyrinth called The Cemetery of Forgotten Books… how cool is that??
this book is quite simply a total personal favorite of mine….if you haven’t read it, perhaps you will?! congrats again, guys! thanks!

@tatbaarHappy Anniversary, Three Guys! What a nice way to celebrate. This art rocks.
I also love the cover of Dean Young’s poetry book Primitive Mentor.

Jim SimpsonWithout a doubt, Kurt Vonnegut’s Breakfast of Champions. It was the first Vonnegut novel I ever read (at age … what …12 maybe?) and it totally blew me away — “wide open beavers?” AWEsome! The cover reminded me of a Wheaties box and, later, a Roy Lichtenstein’s painting. http://bookcollecting101.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/vonnegut+cover.jpg
