timconwayTim Conway may be Catholic, but he is a mensch.  According to the dictionary a mensch is an upstanding, worthy and honorable person.  It would not be a stretch to put Tim Conway’s picture next to that definition.

In What’s So Funny, Tim tells his life story in a concise, honest and entertaining way.  What shines through is that Tom (his real name) is really just a normal guy from a small town in Ohio who happened to be funny and also had a knack for being in the right place at the right time to advance his career.

What is evident upon reading the book is Tim Conway’s humility.  In some ways he almost has too much humility because you know what a talented guy he was from his days on McHale’s Navy and Carol Burnett Show, along with numerous appearances on Johnny Carson and variety shows.

Viewers that grew up laughing their heads off will nod in agreement with many of Tim’s stories and certainly wish they had more of them and maybe a bit more of what goes on that crazy head of his.  Perhaps Tim Conway has a tough time himself of putting into words what makes him a comic genius.

Readers will certainly find enough laughs in his life’s story and learn a bit more about the man behind so many classic comic TV moments.  They will also meet one heck of a nice guy.
