It seems strange that Jennifer Dubois is not a household name by now. Her novel Cartwheel is just out in paperback this week, and there is no excuse for not reading it, because we’re giving away 3 three copies to the first 3 people who comment below.
When you do read this wonderfully assured novel, you will blaze through the pages, even though you think you know how it ends. You don’t. Taking any real life murder mystery and turning it into a novel is always risky, but the bet pays off.
If you linger long enough over this book you might agree with me that Jennifer Dubois is of a higher literary caliber than Jennifer Egan, even when Egan had risen to her highest level, which for me wasn’t A Visit From The Goon Squad, but Invisible Circus. Egan still can’t touch the pure electricity Dubois deals out in Cartwheel, not by a long shot. I wouldn’t want to be Egan’s next novel for all the fruit smoothies on Broadway, but Jennifer Dubois will most definitely get a ton of ink spilled for whatever she does next, and sales will follow.
ok, you convinced me, I want to win and read this book! thanks for the giveaway. Emma: ehc16e at yahoo dot com
